Company Profile
COINSoft Technologies Inc. was created in 2004 to provide a means for continuing development and support of a webware application that was rapidly becoming wildly popular ~ phpCOIN. A free product initially used by several hundred small web-hosts, phpCOIN grew in features and following until it was used by over 35,000 small businesses world-wide. Current phpCOIN users include accountants, lawyers, landlords, associations, a school band and, of course, web-hosts.
COINSoft Technologies Inc. does not plan to rest on a single product, however. We also have a website CMS system available, and will consider any idea or project that helps people to manage their business or website more time-effectively and/or cost-effectively.
People Profile
As everyone knows, a company is only as good as the people behind it. Here is a quick glance at our management team:
President (& lead developer): Stephen M. Kitching
With training and experience in business management, supervision and accounting, Stephen has been starting and running businesses since 1978. During the early 1990s he served as a member of several government/industry working groups and advisory committees dealing with the crisis in the Atlantic Canadian fishery.
Building and programming computers since 1983, he is proficient in several computer languages. He became heavily involved with the internet in 1993, and during 2000 to 2002 was the recipient of seventeen Canadian and International awards for website design and programming.
Also trained as a Technical Instructor, in 1987 Stephen became involved with designing and delivering training programs and narrated a training video for a well-known Canadian corporation. The training programs were estimated to result in cost savings of almost 2.3 million dollars per year in 1988 dollars.
Stephen has several published articles to his credit, and has a fiction novel "in the works". He was one of the four contestants representing his school on the television academic contest series "Reach For The Top" in 1973, and has since made brief appearances in several television documentaries dealing with the Atlantic Canadian fishery.
In addition to COINSoft Technologies Inc., Stephen own and runs several other businesses.
Vice-President Global Sales & Marketing (& invaluable beta-tester): Karl Fleming
A member of the association of professional accountants (A.E.C.E.) in Spain, and with extensive experience in the computer industry, Karl has been involved with the development of many accounting software projects over the years and was the logical choice for driving phpCOIN to become a successful commercial application.
Having worked closely for nearly 20 years with clients ranging from sole traders to multinational companies, Karl broke away from pure accounting and concentrated on systems analysis, technology implementation, business consulting, advertising and marketing.
In addition to COINSoft Technologies Inc., Karl is currently acting as an administrator to a number of Internet based businesses in Spain, and as a business, accountancy and publicity consultant to companies both in Spain and the UK.
Secretary/Treasurer: Derrick Gilbert
With over 20 years experience in the retail industry, Derrick has a varied background in customer service and business operations. He has worked in sales, customer service, shipping, product manufacturing, and the whole range of duties necessary to the operation of a successful retail business.
In addition to COINSoft Technologies Inc., until recently Derrick was performing customer service duties in an office supply business.
